Senior Cloud Solution Architect

    Vacancy: Migration Architect AWS | Amsterdam | € up to 150K

    Tech: AWS | Terraform/CloudFormation | Python | AWS MGN/DMS | Landing zones | Migration architecture

    For an international engineering and IT consultancy we are looking for a Migration Architect who doesn’t just understand AWS migrations, but has led several of them. The company was founded by engineers, employs tens of thousands of people worldwide and is building a specialised AWS business group in Amsterdam. No secondment: you work outcome-based on projects where the company owns the result.

    You’ll join an AWS team of 30+ technically outstanding engineers in the Netherlands. You are the bridge to the client: you lead discovery and migration workshops, build the wave plan from high level to low level, and take both client and team along to the final cutover. Roughly 80% of your time goes to leading, planning and advising; about 20% you get hands-on. You work alongside platform, database and security architects on projects of at least twelve months for major international brands in retail, consumer goods and financial services.

    Requirements:

    • Demonstrable experience leading several cloud migrations, preferably from on-premises to AWS (discovery, wave planning, cutover);
    • Solid understanding of landing zones, platform engineering and hybrid connectivity between on-premises and cloud;
    • A strong technical foundation in Terraform or CloudFormation and Python, plus knowledge of storage, rightsizing and observability;
    • You’re a true consultant: you build trust with clients and lead a team;
    • Strong command of Dutch and English.

    Why apply?

    • A key role in an AWS team that is deliberately investing in client focus: you help shape that culture;
    • Consultancy ≠ secondment: outcome-based projects, and you stay part of your own team;
    • Projects of at least twelve months with major international brands, then on to the next client;
    • Lead rather than only build: roughly 80% leading and advising, 20% hands-on;
    • Plenty of learning: in-house training, certifications and a global knowledge community;
    • Permanent contract with 26 holiday days, pension, employee share purchase plan, commuting allowance and bike lease.
