Senior Data Engineer | The Hague | €95.000 - 36 hours | Migrate Snowflake Matillion platform towards newly architected Azure platform for start-up - Azure, Lakehouse, Spark

Are you interested in replacing a legacy Snowflake, Matillion platform into a completely new Azure native, cloud-native data platform, where you can literally choose the toolchain and design the new data architecture?

Our client is a Real Estate start-up, based in The Hague. With about 35 FTE, they are transitioning into becoming a true data driven organization. For that, they are looking to migrate existing data towards a new Lakehouse architecture, that will be built in Azure. As a Lead Data Engineer you'll research which tools will be used, and will be completely responsible for the design of the new platform. You'll work alongside 1 other Data Engineer and a implementation partner that will also help to maintain the platform.

The role:

As Senior Data Engineer working here means means for you that you get the chance to choose and pick the new toolchain. There is a strong need for vision and ownership in doing so. Additionally you'll design the new data pipelines, design the medaillon architecture and help the business stakeholders to use data for business initiatives. Use cases: Investment initiatives, Portfolio Management, AFAS financial data, HR Data, Sales data and much more. Real cross-domain responsibility where you'll be end-to-end responsible.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of working experience as a Data Engineer or Technical Lead
• 3+ years of experience with public cloud or cloud-native data platforms At least one project where you designed or modernised a data platform
• Strong engineering skills in SQL, Python, Spark and data modelling
• Experience setting up data architecture and data pipelines
• Dutch Fluency/native. Unfortunately no HSM sponsorship/transfer possible.

Benefits: €95.000 compensation including 8% holiday allowance and a guaranteed 13th month. Based on 36h per week. Additionally you'll get a strong Pension Scheme, 27days paid off time and 2-3 working days from home.
